Slow SharePoint 2013 VM : set the search PerformanceLevel to Reduced

During my previous presentation, my SharePoint 2013 VM became much too slow: the culprit was one of the Search component that ate my CPU :

To reduce it cpu footprint, the solution was to set its Performancelevel to Reduced

In Powershell, just type Set-SPEnterpriseSearchService -PerformanceLevel Reduced  and restart the SharePoint Search service.

Before doing that I noticed that the performanceLevel was set to Maximum (the default value) as illustrated below:

Here is what the Technet says regarding the PerformanceLevel :

Not sure that this a “best/good practice”, but it fixed my problem.
