Role manager provider and Authorization manager

to use the Authorization Manager as a Role manager provider, I’ve followed the (quite simple) guidelines described here :    http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnpag2/html/paght000019.asp
 
(I’m using the release version of VS2005)
 
2 problems :
 
1. When I try to add a role from the WSAT , the role doesn’t appear in the Auth.Manager (I use an xml file as the store), even if the auth manager is recognized as the role provider.
 
2. In the WSAT, when I try to edit a user role (I’m using the default membership provider)  I get the following exception :
